Full, quick release interface system compatible with most recline and tilt in space systemsFull interface with most systems to promote full and active participation with family and friends at home, shool, work or out and about by enabling easy switchin between wheelchair, buggy and stairclimmer Example Case StudiesA Junior School in Lancashire purchased a C-max U1 stairclimber to provide access for one disabled child to the Science Laboratory which was situated on the first floor. The child was unable to transfer and was in an electric wheelchair, so the school located a hoist in the disabled toilet area and they hoisted the child from her electric wheelchair into the C-max. Her care workers were trained to operate the Stairclimber. The child remained in the C-max for the duration of the lesson, which also covered the requirements for fire evacuation. When the training was carried out, the staff realised that they had not considered the access to the library, which was also on the 1st floor of another building until the child asked if she could now get into the library and choose her own books to read. (Prior to this a friend would choose the books for her). A comprehensive school in Somerset purchased a C-max U1 stairclimber to provide access for one disabled child to the Home Economics, IT and Art Classes. The child could easily transfer and again remained in the stairclimber for the duration of each lesson. A seat cushion was specially made to add extra comfort for her. The stairclimber was also going to be used on educational trips out of school, should stairs ever be an issue. A 9 year old boy was recently been accepted into Grammar School in Bristol. For the first 2 years at the school classes are mainly up on the 1st floor and 2 other lessons over the other side of the grounds on the 2nd floor. To enable the child to be able to access the school, his carer has been trained to operate the C-max Stairclimber and because the child needs a lot of postural support we fitted a R82 seating system to the C-max so he can remain in the stairclimber for long periods of time. This is working very well. Cambridge University has some 101 separate buildings, spread over a wide area and offer an array of staircases. From 500 year old stone steps, to spiral staircases, to very rounded nosed wooden steps. They initially purchased several of our C-max U2 stairclimbers for fire evacuation, but have since found they have also been allocation to give access the students into certain buildings where lift access is not available or when a lift has broken down. We welcome the opportunity to demonstrate our wide range of products to you at Group Meetings and Open Day’s. We can even offer a free sandwich lunch.
